T - Detective Thorn + 99 CENTS SALE!

Hurricane Crimes rode on the shoulders of Beth and Donovan while they’re stuck together during a hurricane. Only one other person, a bad guy, makes an appearance and that’s near the end of the story. But in Seismic Crimes, many characters make appearances, and Thorn is definitely my favorite.

Thorn is a detective for the Orlando Police Department. He works sting operations and helps to bring down drug dealers. The case he’s on now is Ryan Goldwyn’s murder. He’s working with Donovan, Officer Burnett, and the Chief of Police to hunt down David Buckland, the killer who escaped.

Thorn is funny. He pushes Donovan’s buttons for sport and flirts with Beth, but he’s also their friend on the inside and the one who comes to their aid throughout the series.

Name: Thorn
Occupation: Detective
Character Type: Good Guy
Location: Orlando, Florida
Likes: Flirting with Beth to spite Donovan
Dislikes: Criminals and dirty cops
Favorite Movie: WANTED
Favorite TV Show: Person of Interest

Quote #1:

Beth's whisper touched Donovan's ear. “Are you asleep?”

He shook his head. “I’m fantasizing about taking you home.”

“Careful, she’s not alone.”

Donovan opened his eyes. Thorn had his arm around Beth’s shoulders. “And you’re still touching my girlfriend.”

“That’s because I’m trying to steal her away from you.”

Quote #2:

“Finally,” Beth said. “Now I can get my bikini.”

“A bikini?”

Donovan rounded on Thorn, ready to hit him. “Why the hell are you so excited about that?”

“I’m just happy Beth will have her bikini.”

“Watch it,” Donovan warned.

“That’s good advice. I will watch it.” Thorn’s grin was wolfish. “Let’s go.”

Hi Chrys .. Thorn sounds rather interesting ... but he needs to be careful: Donovan sounds a jealous type ... cheers Hilary

Haha! I don't think there's too much of a spoiler from his quotes here, but I appreciate it. I hope you're enjoy it!

I adore him. ;)

He has some of the best lines.

LOL!!! That cracked me up. :P

I never thought of Donovan as jealous. He's protective and doesn't like other men getting close to Beth...maybe that could be jealousy. haha

Thorn would be the guy I would go for. He probably has that wicked smile too.

Chrys Fey said...

He does have that wicked smile! ;)

Great one-liners from Thorn there! I'm sure Donovan thinks he's a good guy really.

I loved Detective Thorn as well, Chrys. He is an incurable flirt and I think deep down attracted to Beth. He kind of gives the story some comic relief too. Nicely done!

Chrys Fey said...

He is a good guy. They become best friends. :)

Chrys Fey said...

An incurable flirt. That is him! haha The comic relief part was my goal with his light flirtations and humor. You'll see more of his relationship with Beth in the next story. There are excellent moments with him.

I do indeed like Thorn:) And what a perfect name since he seems to be a thorn in the side:)

That's great! I never thought of his name like that. ;P

I don't know. From those snippets, it's too hard to tell. How he behaves all the time would tell me if in those snippets I'd smile and laugh or growl.

Chrys Fey said...

The people who have read Seismic Crimes seem to like him. I did make him very likable. :)

Firstly, I love your question! Um...I think Thorn is probably okay because I think there's more to his need to bug Donovan than simply the girl. I could be wrong, though.

Anyone trying that blatantly to 'steal' my lady would get a sock in the mouth, but he still seems like a fun guy. ;)

Chrys Fey said...

HAHA! It's all in good fun. :D

Chrys Fey said...

He truly gets a kick out of bugging Donovan. They're like brothers. :)

Loved the quotes.

I'd love the name even if it didn't also describe him! Thorn is clever kindle for Donovan's fire for Beth. Great quotes, too ;-)

Chrys Fey said...

Thanks!

Chrys Fey said...

It's funny because I didn't even name him because of that. He became his name. ;)
