My Bucket List / Blog Hop

Sherry Ellis at Mama Diaries and Susanne Drazic at Putting Words Down on Paper are co-hosting this fun blog hop to help us remember what's important in life, and to consider what we want to see or do before we "kick the bucket." Creating a bucket list is a great way to motivate us to accomplish our goals before we die. Writing our dreams down also helps us to stay focused.

My Bucket List:

1.    Get an agent and publisher for my supernatural-thriller series.

2.    Adopt a baby girl. (Ever since I was a kid, I have dreamed of adopting.)

3. Adopt a turkey. Click here for more details.

4.    Go to Ireland.

5.    Get married in the Fall.

6.    Go to a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert.

7. Donate to St. Judes Children's Hospital.

8.    Have my lyrics made into songs. (I write lyrics but I can’t create music or sing, so having my lyrics come to life—maybe by one of my favorite singers/bands—would be a dream come true!)

9.    Make my own perfume. (I actually know what scents I want to use, the bottle design, and the name. I dream big! *wink*)

10.    Go to a fashion show in Paris. (I love fashion and even design dresses.)

11.    Go to a Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb book signing.

12. See the Nutcracker ballet.

13. Make my own tea. (I love tea!)

14. See Celtic Woman perform.

15. Plant a garden. (I currently live in an apartment.)

16. Take my mom to Key West. (She’s wanted to go there for years.)

17. Take my nephews to Disney World and Sea World.

QUESTIONS: What's on your bucket list?

Have you done anything on my bucket list?

    1. Thanks, Susanne. I tried to add practical goals and far-out-there goals. I'm jealous of your garden. ;)

  3. Well if you do end up making it to Disney World/Sea World, give me a shout! This is my home turf.

Adopt a turkey? Now that's not something I've ever heard before. Interesting...

    1. Haha...I live in Florida, too, but I just haven't been able to bring my nephews to these theme parks. I've been to Disney World, but not Sea World.

I'm a vegetarian and I found out about adopting a turkey a couple of years ago when I bought tofurkey for Thanksgiving. :D

  5. Chrys, we totally share some of the same things on our bucket list! I, too, want to take my mother to Key West and my niece to Disney World. These are two things I have always wanted to do, especially since my mom is no longer sick. I've seen 30 Seconds to Mars and I am telling you, you will love them!! One of the best concerts, besides Florence and the Machine=)
And I hope you get to adopt a baby girl someday. You would make such a fantastic mom!

  6. Ahh... loving the adopting a baby post. I'd work on that one. Once you do that everything else will fall into place. You can see the shows with her/him, Disney... the whole darn list can be done together. What a great life that would be!

  7. Love your list! I've seen the Nutcracker a few times, and I danced in a low-budget production as a snowflake when I was a kid. I got married in September. Fall weddings are the prettiest!
I share #1 with you. Number one on my bucket list right now is a trip to Scotland, although Ireland would be nice as well!

  8. Thanks for participating in the Bucket List Blog Hop! That is so cool that you want to make your own perfume. If it ever happens, let me know, and I'll buy a bottle!

  9. I saw The Nutcracker a number of times when I was a lot younger, at various of the performance venues in New York's tricity area (The Egg, Proctor's Theatre, etc.). Some were school field trips, some were probably for my birthday, which is in later December.

My parents have long had a garden, and my late paternal grandparents had a wonderful large garden for decades. Someday I'd love to have my own small farm on several acres of land, with vegetables, fruit trees, grains, and some animals (but not for meat).

    1. You're so lucky! I would give anything to see the Nutcracker ballet just once.

Having a farm like that would be magical. :)

  10. You have to do the Disney trip, as much for you as your nephews.

    1. Maybe you can tell me how you went about getting your lyrics made into songs. :)

I wouldn't actually get to have the turkey...it's more like sponsoring one from a distance. haha But what's funny is that my sister told me earlier today that she wants to get chickens. :D

  20. That's an awesome list, Chrys! I love that you want to make a perfume and you even know the scents and the bottle! That's so unique. I recently did check one off the bucket list, surfing in Tofino! A bucket list for real is something I should write. It would be a great exercise to focus, as you mention.

  24. Fantastic list! For most of my life, I lived in places I couldn't have a garden. When I moved into my current house, that's one of the first things I did. Such a little plot and yet such joy in growing something. :)

  25. #6 - Hi to Jared Leto!
    #7- Yup, done that.
#8 - Oh good, it isn't just me with song words and no clue how to write musical notes. LOL.
    #12 - Done!

I've been to Disneyland, but not Seaworld, so half of that one.

Great list. I wish you the best with it. And #1... yup, me too.

  26. Hi Chrys, Many thanks for stopping by Pen and Paper. I had such fun participating in this meme. It was great finding out what others would include on their list and of course getting to meet lots of new bloggers was the icing on the cake.

You really must get to visit Ireland some day, it's a beautiful country and the people are lovely. As for adopting a turkey, I've adopted several hedgehogs and love the letters I get from them.

I could help you with no.#8. A collaboration.
Your own perfume? You are smart. Very smart. As an artist/creator/entrepreneur, you need to extend yourself... think out-of-the-box... and branding is the name of the game! (...and then, since you're "dreaming big", we could create a jingle for the perfume advert...)
...don't know when last I watched a ballet...it's been ages...
