Welcome to Write with Fey!
This blog is going into hiatus indefinitely but will remain on the web so the information here will continue to be available for anyone who may stumble upon it. And also for Google to mine for their "AI Overview" that shows up at the top of the page when you search for anything on the Google search engine, which makes informational websites like this pretty much useless now.
Blogging has changed since I started Write with Fey in 2012. Back then, blogs were the thing, but technology and trends have advanced. Blogging has fallen to the wayside for many, even for those who had been avid bloggers, like me. There are also different platforms that are popular these days, and blogs like this aren't used as often. Then there's the factor that life can impact someone's ability and interest in blogging, which is what had happened with me.
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be stepping back from blogging, but it has come. It wasn't an easy decision for me to make, but I had to accept the fact that I don't have the time to blog anymore. I've always been a firm believer that those in the blogosphere should return visits and comments as a courtesy. Yet, I'd failed miserably at that over the past couple of years and have felt horrible for it.
I clung to my blog as long as I could. I diverted from the usual writing/publishing/marketing-related content to share personal essays I'd written about growing up that I had available. I liked being able to share those even when engagement tanked, but when it came time to prep for another year of content, and while I was able to come up with ideas, which would go back to the original purpose of this blog, my enthusiasm wasn't there. That was a clear sign for me that it was time to move on.
I am still so very proud of my blog and the content I've shared and the valuable connections I've forged through this space, which is why Write with Fey will stay live.
